EDIT: By saying we don't worry about things at all, I mean they would sometimes hide news from us that we would find upsetting.

Too true. The media made more of a big deal about first telling people not to touch any pieces of the shuttle that landed in their area because of SPACE RADIATION: RADIATION FROM SPAAAAAAACE, then playing that CG mockup of those foam panels flying off ad nauseum, rather than reporting the actual tragedy.

yeah but i think if they reported on the tragedy and made it more personal, we would all be sitting here talking about how they're pulling at our heartstrings for ratings or whatever.
