wasn't the original NES controller bad enough? All those corners made it not only uncomfortable, but dangerous when you get pissed at your friend and pitch it at his face.

My little brother used to get pissed and swing it by the cord. :(

I much refer the dogbone controllers that came with the toploading NES 2.0.

That was the nice thing about having wired cords, I would at least restrain myself from beating my controller against the ground because I didn't want to pull my system off the shelf. Nowadays its almost second nature to break a controller without fear of collateral damage.
