In July, Jonesy told us she hoped to bring her "Miss Jones in the Morning Show" back to Philadelphia within six months, and now she has. 100.3 The Beat is expected to announce at 5 tonight that it will syndicate her Hot 97 FM show from New York beginning a week from today. Jonesy (aka Tarsha Jones) kept listeners entertained and kept management at the Beat, then at 103.9 FM, busy with legal matters during her nearly two years at the station between 2002 to 2004.

The Beat is the first station to syndicate her popular show in what we hear is a multiyear, seven-figure deal for the controversial hip-hop honey who recently issued a memoir, "Have You Met Miss Jones?" (Ballantine, $21.95). When Jonesy's show arrives, Laiya & Pooch, who now host mornings, will move to other shifts with Laiya in middays and Pooch teaming up with Touchtone in the evening.

Next Monday will also likely mark the return of Kidd Chris to 94 WYSP's air where he'll host mornings. The station's now running promos featuring Chris, who was last heard on air signing off his afternoon show on Oct. 23. We reported Sept. 20 that Chris was being considered for mornings after Opie & Anthony's contract was to expire next spring. Of course, things happened quicker as O&A were fired Oct. 23 as the station let go all hosts except for Chris in September when it returned to rock from a talk format. About Chris' return, VP/GM David Yadgaroff says he has nothing yet to announce, and Chris has not returned recent calls or e-mails.

I don't know why the boys think so highly of him really. I know he hasn't screwed them or anything, but I am sure he knows what was going on. I think he just doesn't want to burn bridges with anyone for his own self gain. I also don't think he is funny.

chris' show isnt bad. sometimes really good, but no where near the caliber of the boys or the buddays. however, his cast a bafoons ruin his show though.

Wendy Rollins joins WRFF (Radio 104.5)/Philadelphia as the Modern Rocker's APD. She will also hold down a TBD airshift as well. Rollins was most recently MD/afternoon host at WAVF (96 Wave)/Charleston, SC

the Wave in Charleston is one of the best rock radio stations in the country, and anyone coming from there to philly will give the rock stations a tougher run.

I have listened to Kidd Chris on and off. THere are some elements I really like and others I dont. I agree with FMF sometimes the bafoons roon it.

I hope he takes the hi road when he returns as far as the boys are concerned

I'm sure he will. Honesetly i'm almost a big a fan of Kidd Chriss as i am the boys. I dont just like his show. I LLLLLLLLLLOVE his show. No disrespect to the boys but i will be changing back and forth in the mornings. I think Kidd Chris is halarious and i know alot of other people that feel the same.

It just pisses me off that YSP is making alot of people chose between the 2. Those assholes should of left the boys on in the mornings and Kidd in the afternoons the way it was.

I dont know if anyone else heard when the boys and Jimmy where in studio with Kidd Chris on Kidd's show but it was some of the funniest radio i've ever heard in my life.

I still say fuck YSP. i might just have to hear the boys in the morning and catch the podcast of Chris after they're done.

I refuse to listen to WYSP after what they did to O&A, and this is just my opinion, but Kidd Chris is nowhere near as good as the boys. I might give him a listen though if only to find out if the CBS lawyers restrict him from saying certain things. I read in one of the newspapers here that Star & Bucwild might be returning. I know I am not exactly in that show's demographic range (over 40 white female), but I did listen to Star from time to time before I got XM. He was very outspoken but in today's environment I'm sure he wouldn't be allowed to say certain things either.

Star wont be any different if they come back. They dont restrict people on HipHop stations, black stations, whatever you want to call it. I saw him open for Bob Levy two weeks before the Philly Virus Show. My friend and I were asking him why he was dropping out, and he just got really nervous and didn't quite know what to say. I'm wondering if there was some pressure on Bob through Howard to make him drop out of opening for the Philly show. I'm not sure. Conspiracy theories usually don't hold up sometimes. It's hard to say. Bob seemed like he would be friendly to O&A if he wasn't dealing with Howard. Then again, I've only listened to the boys since 05 and I'm not completely familiar with the whole history of things.

Ed did well that night when I saw him. We also saw one of the other guys that competed with Ed in the original Car Crash Comedy that day. I don't remember if he was featured on Chris's show. He could have been, but I can't remember his name. Levy absolutely killed, though. I wasn't familiar with him until that night, as we don't get many high-profile comedians in this area that I'm aware of, anyway. Levy said he's been coming down here for years, because he knows the owners of the place (Irish Eyes; Rehoboth Beach, DE).

My friend had originally turned me on to Ed because of Chris's show. He doesn't have XM, but he listened to O&A and Chris when he was in Philly for work. He had learned of O&A through me, originally.

Their replacements (Chris) mean nothing to me. I stopped listening to WSP after they were taken off the first time. By the time they came back to terrestrial I had already been with XM for 2+ years. No need for terrestrial.

If O&A come back to Philly (which they should b/c they have a big following) then that would be great but I believe (and this is only my opinion) that the majority of Philly fans have XM anyway.

Let's face it, regular radio is DEAD. I was very excited when they were coming back to radio. I thought it was a HUGE move, and that the bbboys made a great deal. I really had no clue, the ristrictions would be THIS bad. Now, we live in a post imus world. All the radio divisions are keeping it safe. They want to keep things cheap now too. So, either they go with just music, or they hire local talent. Its amazing how they can still put on a good show, and I wish them all the luck in the world. They really do have the passion for radio, if they are still able to work under these horrid restrictions. And, if they come back to xm full time, WOW some of the stories about the behind the scene's shit, should be radio gold
