Same league as last time. Points based. I am looking to improve my 2B position for a playoff push I am currently 1 game back.

I would trade Ryan Dempster who has 387 points

and

I would get Dustin Pedroia who has 355 points and Bronson Arroyo who stinks but will eat innings in Dempsters place.

My current 2B is Jose Castillo who stinks and only has 215 points.

My pitching would take a hit, but I would still have Jair Jurrgens as my number one starter followed by Doug Davis, Bronson Arroyo, & Joe Blanton. As well as 3 decent closing pitchers Francisco Cordero, Brian Wilson, and Bobby Jenks.

Hey Wicked. Id make that deal. Castillo stinks as an option. Which you know. pedroia is a top 7 2nd basemen. So id make the deal. You can usually find some other cheap pitching on the waiver wire. So pitching might not be a huge problem for you. Do you guys get 1 point or something for innings pitched?

How deep of a leagus is this one again?

This is a 20 team league so the best option on the waiver wire for pitching is Brandon Backe right now. you get 1pt per out and 1pt per K. negative points for hits, BBs, and runs. +5/win -5/loss.

The only reason I am worried about this is that my #1 pitcher would be Jurrjens whose team has pretty much given up.

Also, I sent out 2 trades last night for decent 2Bs so I am trying to hold off on accepting this trade until i hear about those.

I might try and pick up Harris for 2nd base. Or Barmes. Harris should be playign a lot. Since Casilla is out for a while. Plus the Rockies started playing Barmes in the OF. You are right about the pitching. Slim pickings. I sorta like Hochevar, Feldman and Byrd. Byrd is rumored to be traded a few places. So I might jump on him if he goes someplace good.

Barmes plays well when he does play, but he doesn't get consistent ABs with Tulo back and Baker playing well at 2B. I will definitely take your pitching advice, I have a few guys i rotate in and out since it is a weekly league so I'll pick up a 2 start pitcher in the beginning of the week. I think Castillo is a slightly better option than Harris, neither is good though.

I am countering his offer with this:

Pedroia, Stephen Drew, & Lowe for Jurrgens, Cordero, and HanRam.

Thoughts?

I dont think id make that deal wicked. Id want someone major back for Hanley. Pedroia and drew are nice players. So is lowe. But would still rather have Hanley and Cordero then those 3.

Yeah, I didn't do it. I offered Dempster and Cordero for Lowe and Pedroia. I thought better of it. Cordero has just annoyed me all year, his numbers are down and with the loss of Griffey, that might slightly affect his saves/

Good job. I hear you about Cordero. I just love HANRAm. I have him on 3 teams. If I traded him. Id just want a couple of studs back for him. I might have tried to offer him Wilson instead of cordero. I have a feeling his balloon will be bursting real soon.

I honestly think the both of them stink. Wilson has been mediocre at best all year while Cordero started well then has declined recently. Plus Wilson plays in a shitty division so i consider his odds to be slightly better. I don't like the idea of Cordero closing against the Cubs, the Brewers, and the Cards.
