I have an old MyFi in my work car and the head unit in my other car is XM compatible. If you are looking for something for your car check out www.myradiostore.com and it should be able to help you out. Quick shipping too.

My Roadie II is getting old. Does anyone have a suggestion on a good radio/ unit for the car? Roadie II only has 2 lines, so I can't see what station I'm on, who's playing, and the song title at the same time.
Stock ticker, and sports score don't matter.

I have a MYFI in my truck and it could just be the antenna but it really blows chunks
I would go with something like the Skifi2 it records you can scroll back to hear what you missed pause and lots more of the two unit's I have I like that one the best

I have three Skyfi 2's . Granted they're not the slimmest out there but you get all the info on screen, plus 30 minutes of pause/rewind to rid myself of those pesky cbs commercials. They have about the strongest built in FM modulator you can find seeing as I can leave the unit in my Jeep and listen to it on our radio in the shop. Good luck.

I started out on XM with a Roady2. It was fine, but I soon upgraded to an installed Commander - but that was a couple years ago. I bought a new Saturn and it came with an XM radio installed - well, part of the factory radio they have. I've got a MyFi at home for in house listening. If you can get any radio installed directly to your in-car stereo and battery for power - do it. It's much better than using the fm transmitter technology. If you can get an XM-ready stereo installed, all the better. Anyway, good luck with it.

installed. That is the only way I would do it.

I don't know anything about these new offerrings, but I will not go with an FM modulator ever again.

Ya Man, you either need a tape adapter, an aux input, or an fm direct adapter. An FM direct adapter actually works great, but if the other two options are possible, by all means do them.

I have 2 myfi's, none if which work anymore. The screen is cracked on one, and the other doesn't take a charge for shit so it's dead.. both of which I still pay for. I have a Roady XT in my car that I got for free that works just fine. You don't need the installed shit. There are cheaper options out there.

indeed, aux-in, or tape adapter certainly, I do not know what "FM direct" adapter is...

But I will tell you from experience, FMmodulator quality sucks, and you CAN tell the difference. If you do not care about mobility, installed/hardwired is the only way to go.

so, you're paying for 2 units that don't work at all, and an third that is sub standard transmission? And you're recommending that there are cheaper options out there. I'll take my advice from you :thu:

Get an Alpine reciever, they all are XM ready. You can get the xm reciever from the same store, and you'll have a clean install of an in-dash unit. I couldnt stand dealing with the wires. I recommend this one:

psssst just an idea why not take the battery from the one with the broken screen and put it in the dead batt one just an idea I'm sure you already thought of

Has anyone heard anything about when a new version of the Inno - or a comparable unit - will be released?
Seriously, I think there have been three generations of iPods released since the Inno was released. I LOVE my Inno, but it's getting old and banged up, and if the day comes that I need to replace it, it would suck to buy a new one only to have the new version come out a month later...

I've tried everything.. even the replacement batteries. Nada.

And for the person talking shit about the subs that I pay for.. they're on my account, but the myfi's were gifts and the subs were paid for a year by someone else. That year expired a few months ago, so yeah I'm paying for them now. Only because I'm big time proscrastinating about calling XM to cancel. Every single time I've called them it's been a complete nightmare. I'm dreading it.

All I know is any new XM units will have to be fully portable, at least try to have a better audio shaping interface to make the sound half decent and will have to have an SD card expansion slot. Innos and Helixes and all were great in their day, but the capacity to hold files were shit. They're making Creative Zen units now that have 32 gigs of flash memory capacity, with an SD card slot.

This will also hurt Apple as well if they don't get on the expandable bandwagon.

me and my fella each have a myfi and we've both had issues with them holding a charge and keeping a signal... one is completely dead.

I'm browsing myradiostore right now figuring out what I want for my car.

I've been without it in my car for a couple weeks now... it sucks. There's nothing good on regular radio!!
