You're not alone. Been a Raiders fan since I knew what football was!
Sorry but I'm not a Justin Fargus fan at all. Can't wait to see what Michael Bush has to offer (and of course Russell). I'm a fan of Kiffin and feel he will turn that franchise around.

You are not alone...been rooting for them since "The Snow Job". And just to remind everyone...the Raiders already have 2 wins, and the season isn't over yet. They can still beat last years record.

I live in Michigan and I love the Lions but I've been a Raiders fan since I can remember. Does anyone else despise the fuck out of bill callahan for being too fucking stupid to realize he should throw some loopholes in the offense against Gruden. Running Grudens own offense against him when he had one of the best Ds in the NFL in 2002 was fucking asinine. Fuck bill callahan, fuck him in his fucking ass. I don't care for him. At all.

That was also Tony Dungy's team that won that Superbowl. I hate John Gruden.

Only reason Callahan made it to the SB was because it was chucky's team he took... look what happened the year after... I think great things are going to come from Kiffen, he's the new Chucky .. young and know's what he's doing. This upcomming draft I wish for a WR within the first 5 picks and the rest of the rounds we draft OL till they bleed silver and black. Our defense aint bad if only our offense can keep em off the field....

Raiders defense needs help on the line. They still can't stop the run. Linebackers and secondary are looking good.
WR/OL/DL are the needs.

I'm a Steeler fan, but boy the glory days of the Silver&Black need to come back soon. Ithink they should Give Russell some playing time, maybe a Quarter at first, then let him play a whole half, for the rest of the year.

They really are nursing him along. Yeah I know he came in late but supposedly he is smart so I'm sure he's picked up a good portion of the playbook. Then of course there are always those people who say, if you put a qb on a bad team out there too early you might lose him forever. Personally I don't buy into that. Plus if he is as smart as people say he is, then he'll know it's not all his fault when he plays and loses.

I would like to apologize for the decline of Warren Sapp, the injury of Tommy Kelley, and the worrisome play of the once great Derrick Burgess. If it makes you feel any better I drafted them and Tampa Bay for my fantasy defense. It was painful when I dropped my Raiders d for a backup running back.
I think JaMarcus is going to be a boom or bust player. I really dont understand why they dont even let him go out and try to play when Culpepper and McCown are just stinking up the joint.

The defense looked good yesterday. I hate to say it but I wonder if putting Russell in the game hurt their chances. He only managed one first down in four series.

The Raiders need to start putting Russell in more IMO, let him start learning now, in a losing season.

Russell on his shittiest day HAS to be better then the three headed QB monster we have. How does your starting QB not have AT LEAST 150 yds by the end of the game. It sucks that I live in NJ and I'm a Oakland fan - Are our WR corps a bunch of sissies or does our OL suck so much where he can't pass that much?

That oline has been a mess since the Super Bowl. Granted, this year is the best it's been however that is not saying much. Like I said earlier in this thread, one of the biggest needs this offseason is oline help.

I dont think any of them are sissies, theyve just had shitty coaching since Gruden left. Kiffin can turn this team around, I fucking hope he doesnt leave.

I dont think he will take the UCLA job. He isnt in a situation like Bobby Petrino was. Al Davis is actually letting his coach run the team again.

I don't think he'll leave either..just pasing on the rumor. And yeah, surprisingly enough, Davis is giving Kiffin room to run things. It's a nice change. Hopefully it'll work out in the end.

Ughh, I guess I spoke to soon in my last post.....
Pro Football Weekly is reporting that Lane Kiffin could be on the brink of losing his head coaching job.
Kiffin and owner Al Davis have fought over control of the roster since the draft, and Davis chose to retain defensive coordinator Rob Ryan despite Kiffin seemingly wanting to hire his own coach. Davis is also angry over Kiffin's reported interest in both the Arkansas and Michigan jobs, which Kiffin denies ever having. Ryan, meanwhile, would be the top candidate for the job if Kiffin is let go, but at this point Pro Football Weekly is the only outlet reporting this could happen in the near future.

When will Al Davis die already!!! Why does he continue to ruin the team. Why can't he just be an owner that sits back and collects his money. It is SOOOO frustrating.

I wouldn't mind the Raiders taking Jake Long in the 1st. Partly because I'm a Michigan fan and also because he's a tremendous left tackle. Better than Gallery....Gallery really isn't a bust (at Guard)

Michgan fan here too. The line did show signs of improvement this year and with Porter possibly testing free agency, they might have to look at a skill position (WR or RB) in the first round. But if they don't I'd be happy with Long. It would be a solid pick.

The O-line is the foundation. I stated that as if nobody else here pays attention to football. I'm a fucking asshole. They will have a lot of options picking so early (again). I just saw that DeSean Jackson will enter the draft this year but I didn't watch a lot, err...any Cal games this year so I don't know if he's worth the hype.

I fucking haaaaaatteeeeee Al Davis....
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Raiders owner Al Davis recently sent a letter to Lane Kiffin, asking him to resign, but Kiffin has refused.
Just another Raiders offseason. At this point, the issue is about money. Kiffin doesn't want to pass up the rest of his contract, while Davis doesn't want to eat it. Davis and Kiffin butted heads on defensive coordinator Rob Ryan's status, and possibly Kiffin's interest in college jobs. Mort says that the letter could possibly have been sent weeks ago, but it still seems like a divorce is inevitable.

Who's a POW that has some sort of arsenal and lives in oakland... there's an old man we need to put out of our misery..... fucking dope, hope he dies of old age so Raiders glory can FINALLY be restored.... And Davis wants to hire Dennis Green ?????? are you fuckn kidding me? He must be senile... 1st year coach, new system and after 4-12 he wants to get rid of him... unbelievable.... Maybe I'll be a Giants fan until he dies.... DIE DAVIS, GET IN THE COFFIN

.. so now today Kiffen and the Raiders deny anything happened, yet the following comes from Kiffen:
""I'm not going to comment on anything that has transpired in the past three weeks," said Kiffin, who is coaching the North team in the college all-star game."
Nothing happened eh?

I'm not gonna say nothing happenend, I'm sure something did but Chris Mortensen has developed a bad reputation for providing inaccuate stories and "inside" information. From the looks of it, ESPN is trying to retract or at least clean up many of the comments Mort made regarding this. Who knows why at this point.
So basically everything I just wrote is pointless....I stink.

If I remember correctly, the Raiders have had 7 coaches since moving back to Oakland in 95....
Mike White (95, 96) > Joe Bugal (97) > Jon Gruden (98, 99, 00, 01) > Bill Callahan (02, 03) > Norv Turner (04, 05) > Art Shell (06) > Lane Kiffin (07, ?)

Raiders added James Lofton to their coaching staff, in an unspecified assistant's role.
This situation will probably get weirder, as hard as it is to imagine. Coach Lane Kiffin reportedly had "nothing to do" with Lofton's hiring, despite interviewing Lofton along with offensive coordinator Greg Knapp earlier this week. Kiffin found out through a third party that Lofton is now on his staff.
Raiders coach Lane Kiffin denied reports that he received word of James Lofton's hiring through a third party.
Raiders senior executive John Herrera talked with Kiffin, and said that the coach did know about the hiring. "He doesn’t want to get caught up in the situation where he is more caught up in responding to rumors than he is coaching the football team." Good luck with that in Oakland, Lane. Kiffin said he would not make a public comment on the matter.
My God....

Raiders to (almost) acquire DeAngelo Hall FOR A EFFN 2ND ROUND PICK ?????? Are the falcons that dumb? I can see this turning into another Bucannon or Woodson (couple semi decent seasons and then they trade him because they think he's a bust or wants too much money) ... As a fan I don't know how to take this considering we need help at backup QB (unless they keep Dante, we only have Walter on the roster) ...
