-The Major Parties have splintered, so you can be in an auxiliary party and win the election.
-Along with the splintering of the parties, the MBNNs (Major Biased News Networks) have been split like the Soviet Union.
-Elections are publicly funded, but with a set cap of $1,000,000. Private donations are very shaky, and will most likely resulting in loss of candidacy.
-Issues are similar, economic recession, unnecessary war, issues of faith, overall idiocy coming from the white house, no incumbent.

How would you run your campaign?

I'd just have my opponents poisoned or die in helicopter crashes, like they do in Russia.

In this scenario are campaigns running under full public disclosure? Cause that's the only real way for any system to work. This one, or the one we have now.

Being the idealist that I am, I'd just speak my mind, which would probably piss off a lot of people but c'est la vie.

This is the most logical answer for someone to become The President under the parameters that you set. With $1,000,000 you hire a few assasins for $100,000 each and let them take out your opposition. But with out that option you spread your money out. You allocate ,your dollars , according to the states that you know you will win. Spend just enough to know that you will win certain states. States you know you will lose spend nothing, why waste money. Then the battle ground is the unsure states. Spend what you got, shake a shit load of hands and hope your opponent(s) didn't do the same.
