The first public beta version of Firefox 3, which includes enhanced security and improved personalization features, is now available for download.

Yesterday, Mozilla released the beta, with the caveat that it was for developers' eyes - rather than 'casual users' - only.

I found it actually quite stable for such an early beta.

It seems a little buggy. But not as bad as some betas I've used before.

But I love my thunderbird with lightening. Once they get it set up to conduit with Palm devices I'll be totally sold. I switched my entire business to open source software (except the operating systems) last year and I've had nothing but success. I'm not a power user at work with open office but it does everything I need it to do as a casual user.

anyone know if you can have multiple user accounts with firefox and thunderbird? we use sea monkey and each one of us can sign in individually, and have our own personal bookmarks, and 2 seperate e-mail accounts. when we start up sea monkey, it asks if sean or mel wants to sign in. i want to use firefox, but we each have different likes and interests for our homepage and favorites, so want to keep things they way they are, but switch to firefox. any help?

I just started using FF3 it doesn't appear to have multiple user capability... are you using Mac or PC?

I'm always on the latest release version of Firefox, mainly because of the add-ons I like to use. A suggestion to anyone that might like to run multiple versions of the same software in isolated instances or even better different OS versions in isolated virtual machines is to have a look at http://www.vmware.com/download/server/ which is entirely free after you register for free serial numbers. The scope of functionality of this software and Virtualization is beyond the scope of this discussion but I would recommend this for anyone that wants to experiment with beta or better.
