I'm not trying to pirate or anything, I had an old cassete of original music converted to mp3. Now one of the other guys in the project wants a copy he can play in a regular CD player. Roxio won't do it, I was wondering if anyone knows what will??? My wife has itunes on her Mac, I'd guess it won't, but who knows?
Anyone?
Thanks in advance!

Roxio does it, not sure why you are having problems. I mean I have a PC, and I just use Windows Media Player to do it, but Roxio should work fine, I have used it in the past.

Can't you just burn a cd using the mp3 files? All of my O&A bits are mp3 format and if I want to burn a cd I've never encountered any issues... or am I over-simplifying..

Yeah, this shouldn't be a problem on any system.

Well, the programs convert the mp3 files before they burn them, it just happens in the program and stores the files temporarily. Older Windows systems prior to XP won't do it for instance without some type of program upgrade.

iTunes will do it. So will Toast just be sure to choose Audio and not data.

Thanks all - I will check on wife's itunes...
yeah, just for clarification... I'm not simply trying to burn the mp3 to disk, but convert them to CDA so that you could play them in your car stereo or the like...
Yeah this work computer is Win2k- I can see where Roxio has an option to "convert tracks", but in looking further it looks like a one way conversion from CD to mp3 - but my laptop is XP, so I will look there as well...
But yeah, I sure do appreciate all the responses - glad to see so much activity on this site!
Thanks again!

You should be able to burn them directly on to a cd with no problems. If roxio doesn't work (which it should), check out some of the other freeware cd burning tools.
You really don't have to convert them (well technically you do, but the computer does all the work). On most programs just select the songs you want and select the option to burn them to an audio cd. The program should do the rest and convert them for you.

I have a question: Is there any way I can take a video off a DVD and save the sound on a cd (like a music video)? Also I want to ask a favor. There are 2 songs I really want, but I cannot get them on CDs either because they are no longer for sale or I can only get them thru internet (I do not have credit card or any way to purchase over internet). If anyone could find a couple songs on mp3 or one of those programs and put it on a recordable CD, I would be grateful and would reimburse you for the CD. (Warning, the songs are of a "gay" style, so I hope no one would be afraid of being labelled. You can contact me in private if you can do it and to avoid embarassment.) the songs and artists are:
Curious - Johnny Dangerous
Somethin' For the Fellas - Jonny McGovern (AKA The "Gay Pimp")
both songs are adult in nature, and yes, I am over 18! lol
So if you can help, please contact me. Thanks.

DVD Decryptor allows you to strip the audio. I don't think it's currently available, but it's pretty easy to find a torrent for it.

I'm a fucking dork. Thanks again fellers.

Jetaudio will record and audio played through your PC into Windows Media, then just convert that to an mp3

Does anyone burn cds through iTunes? Mine was working fine last week. I tried to burn a cd today (mix of purchased and non purchased songs) and I keep receiving an Unknown Error message from iTunes. Very frustrating.
