TOM MCCARTHY is returning to the PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES broadcasting crew, leaving the NEW YORK METS radio booth and CBS Sports WFAN-A/NEW YORK to rejoin the PHILS to do the three innings per game of TV play-by-play not handled by Hall of Fame announcer HARRY KALAS. KALAS will continue doing six innings on TV (COMCAST SPORTSNET and CW affiliate WPSG-TV) and one on radio (CBS Talk WPHT-A/PHILADELPHIA).

MCCARTHY did PHILLIES broadcasts on WPHT in 2001-2005 after serving as the play-by-play for the minor league TRENTON THUNDER. The PHILLIES say that SCOTT FRANZKE, LARRY "L.A." ANDERSEN, CHRIS WHEELER, GARY MATTHEWS, and pre- and post-game host JIM JACKSON are all returning for 2008 as well.
