"The Incredible Hulk" director Louis Leterrier talked with Wizard Magazine (http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/wizard/006462271.cfm) recently about why Universal decided to start over on the superhero franchise.

He also talked a little about the villains: "Obviously, General Ross is the villain, so he had to be in it," added Leterrier. "But the Abomination, Emil Blonsky, was who Marvel wanted to put in this chapter - the first chapter of our new saga - because he's the most famous. He's an enemy that can actually threaten the Hulk."

He adds, "It's very important for me that there is a danger. When Bruce Banner is Hulk, I didn't feel in Ang Lee's 'Hulk' that there was any threat. He was invincible. So with Abomination there's actually a monster that can, you know, kill him when he's in the Hulk form."

Should be cool; while I did like Ang Lee's version, this one promises to have more mass appeal.

i think the computer generated hulk hurt. as good as the technology is, i couldn't get into a basically cartoon hulk. if i wanted the cartoon hulk i would go with the 1966 cartoon version:http://www.hulklibrary.com/hulk/multimedia/cartoon-show.asp?Id=1 or the 1981 cartoon from 'spider man and his amazing friends':http://www.hulklibrary.com/hulk/multimedia/cartoon-show.asp?id=2. i think a movie would be great but i feel they need to get away from the computer generated hulk someway.

i would also love for marvel the get the 'thor' movie off the self, i haven't heard about it for a while now, but would love that.

The Hulk himself really does need to be CG, though; there's only so much they can do with prosthetics and forced perspective, and CG will allow them to have the giant action scenes between Hulk and Abomination.

I agree the Hulk does need to be CG

Ang Lee made a terrible movie... I wanted to like it so much but it just flat out failed on so many levels... as nice as it is to look at Jennifer Connelly her story line was a waste of time... the back story with the father went on too long... Hulk Dogs? Yuk..... not to mention the ending was fucking weak... That movie has left a bitter taste in a ton of movie goers mouths
They have an uphill battle selling people on another Hulk movie

Is it another year one film?

i just didn't like the hulk being entirley CG. maybe with the way they shot 300 and beowolf with an actor going through the motions in a special suit and the CG effects overlayed, it may be better.

and thor is scheduled for 2009!

Thor?!

That could be great... it needs to be an rated R action film though... like an update of Conan the Barbarian

Ahh, I see what you mean; motion capped instead of hand-animated. Yeah, I agree, that would help ground the Hulk more into "reality". Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll get Andy Serkis to do the mo-cap! :D
