Best show on TV right now (BSG is on hiatus) and it's been canceled... Why does this country eat up shit like Dancing With The Stars and American Idol and ignore anything that has any artistic merit... I'm not sure that I would call Journeyman art but it is certainly made bade artists... the writing is top notch... the acting is great (granted the cast is a little too pretty to be believable)... apparently San Francisco doesn't have any ugly people... the special effects are as good as anything on TV
a cohesive narrative... unlike Lost each episode of Journeyman is something of a stand alone but an underlying story is moving forward every week
to fully appreciate the show you should watch all twelve but you could jump in at anytime and enjoy it... anybody else gonna miss this show?

Well you cant really jump into it. I mean you need to watch it week in and out, or you will be lost on somethings. I am not surprised it got the AX but thats a though slot Mondays at 10pm any other night put the show on at like 8 and it may have been a hit.

I still have not read anything concrete about it being cancelled although it wouldn't surprise me, considering that any show I get into winds up being cancelled. If it does get the axe, I hope the SciFi channel or something similiar picks it up...

This show and the use of the word hoagie vice hero are the only 2 things I have ever disagreed with Ronnie B. on. I am not saying it is a bad show, but far from the best show on TV now. I would much rather watch the 2 shows on NBC that are on before this (granted Herodes has fallen drastically). I would also rather watch any of the Law and Orders, Numb3rs (yes thats the way it is spelled, not trying to be cool), House, various sitcoms, and Greys Anatomy (I know how gay it is, you don't have to tell me).
I just think the show was better the first time was on when Scott Bakula played the lead. I think it was called Quantum Leap. So to me, the back in time gimmick has been done before. I'm looking for something with a new twist.

I was a huge quantum Leap fan when I was 12... 20 odd years later they have taken the same concept and made it far more interesting...
Journeyman has one show that you can directly compare it to... you mentioned law and order... how many one hour crime dramas are on tv right now? beyond that how many one hour crime dramas have been on in the last 20 years? if you don't like Journeyman that's fine but to claim the main reason you don't like it is because it's very similar to a 20 year old show does not quite hold up... i've never seen numbers but I assume it's another csi crime drama type thing...
Season 1 of Heroes was great... very original, i'll give you that
I personally think Journeyman has taken the Quantum Leap setup and made it there own... an outside force controls the jumps but who or what that entity is we are unsure of... he's not the only one traveling through time... it has the victim of the week aspect in common with quantum leap but the ongoing story is what had me coming back... i'm so annoyed it won't be wrapped up... I wish I would have never started watching this show

I too was a Quantum Leap fan. In my opinion, the two shows are very different. People say this all the time (it's a Quantum Leap ripoff). Sure the concept is similiar but the plots/storyline is more complicated than QL ever was, except for maybe the Oswald episodes. I mean, come on, how many cop shows, doctor shows, lawyer shows are there now? And a fan of any specific show will say the same thing when told by someone that they liked that show the first time when it was called fill in the blank. All of the shows today, Heroes is the most original but it wasn't for me.

I hear what you guys are saying and I didn't say i didn't like the show, I just said I didn't think it was the best show on tv. I agree crime/hospital dramas are all over the place, and the plot lines are roughly similar, but I just enjoy them more. To each their own i guess.
I typed out something and read it back, then realized I was dumb for what I was going to say. It was something along the lines of how the cast of the crime/hospital dramas were the same but the characters who the cast intertwined with were different every episode. After reading it I realized that Journeyman did the same thing.

Honestly no one cares about your opinion, you watch Grey's Anatomy.

I already fixed it, I am multitasking at that said job, so I did not proof read until after I posted.
Now go jerk off to doctor Mc Dreamy.

I just like the show. It's so well written and intelligent. And doesn't sink to old hack gimmicks and tired storylines.

Exactly. Between this and Lost I was starting to regain hope in television...

Maybe Scifi will pick it up. They're going to need a quality show once BSG ends.

I think SCIFI is owned by NBC so that might happen... they decided to air the last three episodes because the fans reaction... can't wait for the final season of BSG
